Things to do in Punta Cana

Punta Cana airport is easily accessible. To get from the airport to your hotel, you can take taxi, shuttles, or Uber.

I took Uber, and it cost me $22 on November 26th. Other Uber trips up and down the main road later that week cost me on average $6. I always felt safe using Uber, and Uber also included a PIN that needed to be verified by the driver.

For comparison, when I got home to Chicago, my Uber to my friend’s house in La Grange was $60! Without tip.

1: Take the first day to get acquainted with your immediate surroundings

You can’t drink the water in Punta Cana (certain hotels and resorts might be different), so take some time to figure out where you’re going to get food and water. Take a nap if you need to after a long travel day. Unpack and organize your things. Then you’ll be fresh for a new day.

2: Go on the Buggies / ATV Tour

3. What to Do After

The sun and the moon are truly beautiful wonders of the cosmos. If you are interested in solar power, check out my post on how to go solar without installing roof top solar panels.
